The Iznik Garden Rollerball and Pencil Set by Retro51 reproduces two stonepaste dishes in The Met collection and originally crafted in the Turkish town of Iznik, which was renowned for its pottery workshops. The floral and bird themes featured on the original plates were pervasive decorative elements on 16th- and 17th-century Iznik creations. These writing instruments have been carefully recreated with the images silkscreened onto the metal barrels of the Tornado twist-top rollerball and 1.15 mm pencil that are finished with polished chrome trim.
The MET Rollerball and Pencil set is packaged in a commemorative tube complete with extra lead, erasers, and a foldout print with more information on each design, artwork, and artist. Although they are not limited editions, the top rings are engraved with The Met logo and individually numbered. The Met logo is also imprinted on a matching metal top disc.
The pen is fitted with a smooth flowing rollerball refill that is retracted with its patented knurl twist-top. Utilizes the Retro 51 REF5P-B refill. The pencil activates the 1.15 mm lead with a twist of the top cap. The huge eraser on the top of the pencil is for those who make occasional mistakes. Gift packed in the Retro 51 gift tube that also doubles as a pen stand.
