Retro 51 Tornado "Popper" Rollerball Pen, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Limited Edition of 1,031 Pens; Glow in the dark barrel
Step into the opulent parlors and shadowed alleys of Victorian London with Retro51’s newest Tornado™ Popper, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s haunting classic The Picture of Dorian Gray. This limited-edition rollerball captures the tension between unblemished youth and moral decay with a striking gloss black print layered over a light blue-gray, glow-in-the-dark barrel. The design balances Dorian’s radiant, youthful innocence on the top half against the grotesque, sin-ravaged reality of his hidden portrait below. Surrounding his portraits are the haunting faces of those broken and discarded by his fatal wish—a dark, visual reflection of the heavy price paid for eternal pleasure.
More than just a writing instrument, this rollerball is a reminder of the secret masks we all wear—the balance of outward vanity and the inner soul. Stealth Black accents sharpen the mood, while the top disc features the DG initials bookending an hourglass, capping the story’s theme of fleeting time. Only 1031 pieces exist, each engraved on the top ring and packaged in a matching collector’s tube worthy of this timeless gothic masterpiece. Like Dorian’s fleeting innocence, this edition shall not last long—claim yours before it vanishes into the shadows.
The pen is fitted with a smooth flowing rollerball refill that is retracted with its patented knurl twist-top. Replace the rollerball with any readily available Parker-style ballpoint refill and your Tornado is now a ballpoint pen. You'll find the Retro 51 capless rollerball refills in our Retro 51 refill section and the Schmidt P900 ballpoint refill for this pen in our store under Refills. Gift packed in the Retro 51 gift tube. Individual pens are serially numbered.
