Retro 51 Tornado Smithsonian Rollerball Pen, Bison: Standing Strong

Retro 51 Tornado Smithsonian Rollerball Pen, Bison: Standing Strong

Celebrate America’s National Mammal with the officially licensed Smithsonian Bison: Standing Strong Tornado™ Rollerball. Inspired by the Smithsonian’s Bison: Standing Strong exhibition and the three larger-than-life bronze bison sculptures installed at the National Museum of Natural History in 2026 in honor of the nation's 250th anniversary, this design honors the bison's place in our nation's history and the Smithsonian’s early role in efforts to help preserve the Species.

This Tornado twist-top pen features bison acid-etched into a stonewashed copper barrel, creating a timeworn appearance reminiscent of a vintage American coin. Stonewashed pewter trim complements the rugged finish, with “Smithsonian” etched into the top ring and the iconic sun logo adorning the top disc. Packaged in a commemorative Retro51 tube, the Bison: Standing Strong is a fitting tribute to an iconic American animal and the enduring spirit it represents.

It is fitted with a smooth flowing rollerball refill that is retracted with its patented knurl twist-top. Replace the rollerball with any readily available Parker-style ballpoint refill and your Tornado is now a ballpoint pen. You'll find both the Retro 51 REF5P capless rollerball refill and Schmidt P900 ballpoint refill for this pen in our store under Refills. Gift packed in matching commemorative Retro 51 gift tube that doubles as a pen stand.
